Christian black metal bands

Christian Black Metal is not a Heavy Metal genre per say, as it doesn't consist of any particular playing style. Christian Black Metal, occasionally called Unblack Metal, is a genre regrouping bands that play Black Metal music whilst promoting a Christian point of view.

Since there is no definite playing style, many of these bands can either play ambient black metal or symphonic black metal, although the most common is still traditional second wave black metal.

Frost Like Ashes is a christian Black Metal band formed in 2001. They are very renown, not only in the christian black metal scene but in the general black metal scene, as they are even featured in the best black metal albums list.

To date, they have released one full-length album, Tophet, and several demos and EPs. They are widely recognized as one of the most successful acts of Christian Black Metal.

Many Black Metal elitists believe that Christianity doesn't have a place in Black, or extreme Metal in general as its roots are Satanic.

Others says that since many Christian bands have produced quality releases, they have proven to be a major part of the Black Metal scene.

Due to this conflict, almost all Christian Black Metal bands have remained underground Black Metal bands.
